Universidad Francisco de Vitoria will hold the Conference “50 Years After May 1968: A Time of Changes, A Change of Time”

The Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid, member institution of ICUSTA, will host the international and interdisciplinary conference “A Time of Changes, A Change of Time” to mark the commemoration of the 50 years since May of  ’68.  ICUSTA joins the conference’s Committee of Honor; and for this reason, all members of our network who would like to participate will have a 50% discount on the registration fees for the whole event.

The conference, which will be held from November 8 to 10, 2018, will thoroughly examine the causes, backgrounds, impact and social consequences that are left by a historical event such as May ’68.  The distinguished speakers will have a multidisciplinary approach to the fundamental subjects such as persons and their dignity, corporality endowed with sexuality, human love, and affective-sexual education, etc.

Furthermore, it will be a great opportunity to meet and interact with people and research groups from various parts of the world, since the event is intended for the worlds of academia, culture and education in both public and private institutions.

The Conference will feature lectures by Jean Sévillia, essayist, historian and journalist of Le Figaro of Paris; Francisco José Contreras, Professor of Philosophy of Law at the Universidad de Sevilla; José Granados, Vice President of the Pontificio Istituto Teologico Giovanni Paolo II per le Scienze del Matrimonio e della Famiglia in Rome; and Fabrice Hadjadj, Director of the Institut Philanthropos of Fribourg.  In addition, the following distinguished speakers will present: Gabriele Kuby, writer and German sociologist; Mark Regnerus, Professor of Sociology at the University of Texas; Baruj Garzón, Chief Rabbi Emeritus of the Jewish Community of Madrid; Wael Farouq, renowned Egyptian academic; and many more.
