“Towards Inclusive Higher Education: Experiences and Good Practices in the ICUSTA Network”

1. Objectives of the Seminar
- Collect and disseminate experiences: Promote the exchange of good practices, projects and innovations developed in the universities that make up the ICUSTA network.
- Strengthen academic ties: Stimulate inter-institutional collaboration through the establishment of networks and the promotion of technical alliances between institutions.
- Encourage debate and reflection: Analyze trends and challenges in inclusive higher education, promoting discussion on effective strategies and the generation of innovative proposals.
2. Topics of Interest
Presentations may address the following topics in the context of higher education:
- Universal design of learning applied in a diverse classroom.
- Inclusion and diversity strategies in the university environment.
- Reduction of learning gaps for students with disabilities.
- Diversification of teaching.
- ASD students in higher education.
- Use of technology in the support of students with disabilities.
- Experiences of international mobility and inclusive good practices.
3. Event Structure
- Modality: Online.
- Presentations: Each paper will have a maximum duration of 15 minutes, followed by a 5-minute space for questions.
4. Bases for the Presentation of Papers
Submission format: An abstract must be sent in Word or PDF format, with a maximum of 1000 words to the email jgomezv@santotomas.cl or via online registration form, which includes:
- Subject: ICUSTA INCLUSION SEMINAR APPLICATION.
- Title of the paper.
- Name(s) of the author(s) and institutional affiliation.
- Objectives
- Methodology
- Results
- Conclusions
- Impact
- Bibliography.
Presentation format: For accepted papers, the preparation of a PowerPoint presentation will be requested, with a maximum of 15 slides.
Evaluation criteria: Proposals will be evaluated by a committee, considering:
- Thematic relevance
- Originality
- Methodology used
- Applicability of the results
- Impact
- Transfer.
5. Schedule for the Collection of Papers and Dissemination
- Launch of the call and dissemination: April 28
– The call will be disseminated through the official channels of the ICUSTA network and the participating universities. - Reception of abstracts: April 28 to May 13
– Proposals must be sent through the online form or via institutional email. - Evaluation and selection: May 13 to May 16
– The academic committee will review and select the papers. - Notification of acceptance: May 16
– Authors will be informed about the approval of their proposals. - Submission of final presentation: May 17 to May 30
– Accepted speakers must submit the final version of their presentations. - Dissemination of the final programme: 2 June
- Technical tests and tests: 5 to 8 June
– Tests will be coordinated to ensure the correct functioning of the equipment and technological resources. - Seminar: June 11
– Realization of the online event with the participation of speakers, moderators and attendees.
6. Final considerations
- Certification: All speakers will receive a certificate of presentation endorsed by the ICUSTA network.
